One of best ways of getting involved with the Mabuhay District Inc. is by becoming a member! Memberships are vital, as the corporation is a member-based, member-focused, and member-driven organization.

Members of the Mabuhay District Inc. community have a passion for contributing to our vision and investing in the develoment of the contemporary Filipino-Canadian culture. By signing up for a membership, you get to play a part in making history, building connections, and shaping our legacy!
Membership fees will be used to support Mabuhay District Inc.’s operational expenses, future programming, developmental initiatives, and obtaining charitable status.

Benefits to registering for a membership may include:
Receiving invitations to special community occasions and opportunities,
Acquiring discounts at select events, including Kultivation Festival,
Getting discounted or priority space rentals,
Accessing applications for potential funding such as scholarships, bursaries, and more,
Or receiving additional benefits as approved by the Board of Directors

Membership expiration dates may differ from the type of membership. We encourage members to review their membership agreements for the details!
Memberships will generally expire on the day the membership was purchased on, and for the length of time outlined in your membership agreement. A two week grace period will be granted to all members that miss their renewal period. During this time, all benefits will be suspended.Membership can be renewed annually or once the membership length has expired (reference to 5 year memberships). Renewals can be paid with cash/credit/debit/e-transfer in the options available to Mabuhay District Inc.

Members can cancel this membership at any time, though there are no refunds unless by board decision.
NOTE FOR FOUNDING MEMBERS
Founding Members who choose to cancel their membership indefinitely will no longer qualify as Founding Members. -
Members can pause this membership at any time for up to two (2) months maximum with no back to back requests. Paused memberships must come with a written notice to Mabuhay District Inc. and get approval.
While the membership is paused, all benefits will be suspended. Members may choose to continue their membership after the two (2) month period, or cancel their membership. -

Yes, you may register online so long as the membership portals are up on our website.

Yes, all membership will need to be renewed yearly/until the membership length expires. However, you can pause your membership upon request— though this is not applicable for first time memberships.

Your personal contact information is used for:
Contacting you regarding your membership
Sending you Mabuhay District content and information (i.e. newsletters, event invitations, marketing, etc.)
Your information will be kept confidential and will not be sold to any third parties.

Membership fees are reviewed by the Membership & Volunteer committee on an annual basis. They will make recommendations to the board and the decision will be voted on at the next Annual Gathering Meeting. Any increases will be determined at these stages!

Your membership fees will be used for our:
Operational expenses (e.g. maintenance of the website, supplies, etc.)
Future programming events (e.g. Annual General Meetings, Galas, KF Markets, etc.)
Developmental initiatives (e.g. Feasibility study, strategic planning, etc.)
Cost of obtaining charitable status

No, memberships are not transferable and cannot be used by others. This applies to our Founding Member memberships as well.

There are no age restrictions for Founding Member memberships.
